I wish to catchup few years :)

Postby yves » Sat Dec 02, 2017 4:22 am

Dear

I came out of my attic an old CameraAxe 5 that I have not used since 2014. All seems to work fine (except a few bad contacts with some micro push buttons). Nonetheless, I wished to make a software update, hence, I plunged into this forum. However, I feel a little bit lost and it seems that there is more development with the CA.

I tried to fly across last posts but I couldn't find a post that provides the last status of this great tool.

Is there any kind member who could provide a summary of the last status of the Camera Axe, hardware and software, provide the right pointers with last software/documents, or maybe, point me directly to the right post if I missed it?

Many thanks in advance,

yves

Yves,
Here are some links:

General: http://www.cameraaxe.com/wp/

Documentation: http://www.cameraaxe.com/wp/?page_id=4990

Software: http://www.cameraaxe.com/files/ca5/cameraAxe56.zip

Wiki: http://www.cameraaxe.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

Parts List: http://www.cameraaxe.com/wp/?page_id=4994

The latest software I am aware of is CameraAxe_v5.6. It should run on either the CA5 or the CA5 Shield. Not sure where you left off, but one of changes made in the past was to make the software compilation contain conditionals to indicate which menus you want to include. There is not enough Atmel memory to contain them all.

Yes, the push buttons proved to be a weak point. Best is to cut them out, then de-solder the leads individually. Replace with the push-button identified in the parts list. Note: the parts list is for the shield version, but most of the parts are the same.

Hope you are able to get it up and running.
