Shield PCB cost

Postby Fasteddie » Thu Mar 02, 2017 5:26 pm

I have been trying to get a decent price on PCB's for the shield
The best I can get is $400 plus tax for 25 pieces ($16 per piece) or $250 for 10 pieces ($25 per piece). These are Canadian dollars.
If I can find enough people to in on this I can order them. $16 is a pretty good price.
The total cost of the components will be around $50 with $22 of that being for the display
Please let me know if anyone is interested
If anyone has found a better price please let me know
Thanks
Ed

Hi Eddie,

I have used elecrow in recent times.

https://www.elecrow.com/pcb-prototyping.html

I have had one or 2 boards which were twitchy, but I believe that was due to my squeezing my design.

Very reasonable costs IMHO and I will be using them again.

Cheers

Thanks PTB
Prices on their web look good, I guess it is because they are in the far east
I have asked them for a quote

PCB
I never heard back from them
You did, however, prompt me to look beyond Canada. I have found a site with better pricing and I can get US$5.00 per piece with a minimum of 20 pieces.
I shall start a new post looking for interested parties

Ed

You may want to look at

http://www.basicpcb.com/Home.aspx

https://oshpark.com/

I have used OSHpark; they do what they say.

Thanks Ric
There appear to be a number of good options for PCB
Unfortunately nobody seems interested in building a shield.
I will shelf the idea for now.
I may build one with a DIY stripboard shield but that is tricky and error prone and I will leave it for now
Thanks again
