Air rifle advice

Postby Lloyd » Wed Mar 25, 2015 5:06 am

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anybody could advise me on what air rifle to buy for projectile photography? I know nothing about guns at all and I have no interest in shooting anything other than fruit etc. The gun will be permanently mounted on a rig so I don't want to spend much money but want the right tool for the job. I believe there are some guns that recoil more than others and that some pellet sizes work better than others. Any help would be appreciated.

I like the single pellet version that is cocked by bending the barrel right in front of the stock. This also happens to be one of the most inexpensive types. The reason I like it is because when you cock the gun you can look through the barrel or use a brass rod through the barrel to make sure it is lined up with your target. Things to think about are how you will hold the gun in place and load it.

Thanks Maurice, what gauge is best; .177 or .2?

I use .177, but if I had to do it again I'd probably go bigger if that option was available.
